The one that got away…from the perfect photo op.

Most of the time it is difficult enough for me to get the fish to bite. Last week I go through all of the trouble to land a decent fish and the darn thing jumps right out of my hands at the count of 2 and ¾’s. Should have told the fish we were going for the shot on the 3-count. The camera goes click and I’m left holding air.

A lot of the pictures I take don’t seem to make their way into the blog posts. In this case I will endure a little humility to expose how difficult it can be at times to get that perfect photo op.

Good luck and good fishing.

Matt, I feel your pain man. At least you were over the water. When taking soldiers out for Project healing waters, those fish are big and are good at that camera shy jump. The problem is they usually hit the ground and not the water. We try to be ready with the net but it doesnt always work out.

Oh that's just priceless!

You know that sayin' that a picture is worth 1,000 words? If that was me, it'd be 1,000 swear words, lol!

Great shot!

The fact that you captured it in mid air flop is pretty awesome. It definitely demonstrates the balancing act of getting that perfect fish pic.

I love that picture. It's not often you can catch a fish flopping in mid-air.

More often than not, this is how our photo ops turn out. Slip and slide, off swims the fish.

I think it's a great shot. They are slippery little buggers.

Man, there's never audio around with you need it. Hey, how about a post on that boat rig. Looks pretty interesting. I see a few customizations that look pretty cool.

Appears to be a very nice trout, and, I am left wondering just how you got such a great shot of the fish in that manner. That takes some skill, Matt. Happy hook ups!

Oh you folks are the best!!! Love the comments. Juggling a few projects at work, 3 to be exact and it is cutting into fishing, blogging and a little of my already fragile insanity. Once I close two of them I can get back into spring mode. The problem there is if you are not already in spring mode…you are one major step behind the game in Colorado. Conditions change fast and time is precious. Thank you for your continued support.

@Covnitkepr1: Consider it done my friend. However, I must warn you that my blog may come across a bit savage or even heretic-ish at times. Thank you for your continued support.
